OpengraphicsSimulator
The OpengraphicsSimulator is a GUI application that emulates the behaviour of the graphics hardware.
A client program (usually a command-line program) connects to the simulator via a Unix domain socket and sends it commands, similar to a real driver sending PIO writes and DMA requests over the PCI bus. The main purpose of the simulator is to test the software model. It can help us find problems in the design before the design is turned into hardware. The simulator source is maintained in a Subversion repository at https://svn.suug.ch/repos/opengraphics/main/trunk/ogsim/ To checkout a copy of the simulator, first install subversion, then run svn checkout http://svn.suug.ch/repos/opengraphics/main/trunk/ogsim/ The software model of the 3D rasterizer part of the GPU can be found here, along with some images and documentation. http://opengraphics.gitk.com/opengr.tar http://opengraphics.gitk.com/open_graphics_outline_1.0.pdf Documentation Some images: http://opengraphics.gitk.com/shaded_image.png http://opengraphics.gitk.com/textured_image.png Created by: TimothyMiller last modification: Saturday 09 of June, 2007 [03:27:10 UTC] by josephblack
